Soul Bowl started as a soul food festival a celebration of culture, flavor, and community. To add even more energy, teams from New Orleans were invited to take on Pensacola’s own. What began as friendly competition quickly turned into a tradition.

Over the years, the spotlight settled on two hometown powerhouses: the SYSA Tigers and the East Pensacola Rattlers. Their rivalry became the centerpiece of Soul Bowl, turning one game into the game.

But Soul Bowl is now much more than Tigers vs. Rattlers. It’s a celebration of legacy, music, food, and unity a cultural event that has grown into one of the community’s most anticipated traditions for 33 years strong.
